you mentioned anxiety and outbursts- a long time ago i was first given atenolol [a beta blocker for hypertension] which had the rare good side effect of tamping down my free-floating anxiety, but still left in place the kind of nervousness one might find at an unpleasant workplace or in a bad school. strattera [atomoxetine] got rid of the rest of my anxiety as well as my bursts of temper. it was a good Rx for me. :thumleft:

It's supposed to help curb anxiety, irritation, and my penchant for self-injury.

I believe it's been helping. I haven't had a significant melt-down in months, and I'm not quite as homicidal when people interrupt me.

I am taking a beta blocker for my recently acquired high blood pressure---it is Bystolic. I have noticed a decrease in my anxiety, though I have had to try to mentally program myself in conjunction with my Bystolic. Now, for the past week or so, I feel a lot better in regards to anxiety.

I'm on it for depression. It may be helping, but, if so, it's pretty subtle. I take 20 mg per day.

i've been on it at 20mg for about 3 months...seems to help with impulsiveness and somewhat with depression.
thinking of going on 40mg....probably better to be on then a benzodiazepine which i currently take from time to time (clonazepam)

Same here. My doc now has me on buspirone. The jury's still out on that one.
