You know, out in the real world, I'm getting fed up with the amount of lies and dishonesty in the air. I watched it first hand. An old friend traded independence for her popularity and all it cost her was every value I remember her having.

I've found that, in order to have popularity, you must lose the 'self' or else 'acceptance' will not be gained. You have opinion but you must surpress them. Truth, truth hurts and isn't needed around popularity.

I'm only glad that when I type in the web link to this website, I'm going to a place where truth is not only encouraged but expected. An openness beyond imagination. A community based NOT out of ignorance but rather the opposite. The result is a bunch of people seeking help and actually getting help or at least an ear that'll listen and offer support.

I had something 'click' last night that hasn't clicked in years. After a lengthy time in deep meditation daily, there was one bugging, nagging, issue that I couldn't get rid of or rationalize. Finally clicked.

I'm back! (ok, metaphorically, I never went anywhere, but the last 2 weeks I was losing it)

Oh this thread is kind of, not really a 'thanks' but more an 'acknowledgement' of the honesty and trust here displayed by most, if not, all

Yes, I have to admit, there is a lot of honesty here. I have found that people here don't waste time or brush over things, but simply tell it as it is which I love.

I also know someone who used to be nice and then decided popularity was more important. She is now a self righteous b***h and is as false as hell. I do not consider her to be worth any of my time anymore.

At my job....The individuals seemed to have decided when to lie based on the odds of them getting caught.If they think they wont get caught,then they do what ever they want and then just lie about it after if nobody can prove otherwise....it's a mess.Especially,considering that the DD residents we work with are either non-verbal or not believed when they tell the truth about what staff has or hasnt done....and I am the "bad guy" for narcing...thats why I am not considered a team player,because I challenge them on their lies.(like not showering a client and charting that they did).After 43 years,I have learned how to word things to try not offend people...."Do I look fat in these pants?"...."Not any fatter then anything else you wear"....is evidently not the "right " answer.I would just say......"A lot of guys like big bootys"

What exactly are DDs? How can someone get away with claiming to shower someone when they hadn't? You would think it would be obvious. WOW!

As for your solution to the "do I look fat". A boyfriend or husband couldn't respond to a womans comments EITHER way generally. Some women seem to want to be comforted EVEN if it is obviously wrong. Wierd, but true. BTW I did say SOME women!

I mentioned once to a THIN woman how carnitine can help you lose wieght. She was OFFENDED because she thought I was implying she should lose weight! LATER, I said "OH, she's still angry because she THOUGHT I said she should lose some wieght!" That was NOT the thing to say. Oh well, I guess that is why AS is called PERVASIVE!

DD is short for Developmentally Delayed....the PC term for "ret*d"....and ,yes,it should be obvious the the client had not been showered.The problem is that the "managers" who are responsible for the staff,do not spend much time with the clients or staff.Most of their time is in pointless meetings and doing paper work.The person who was doing this had been reported on by myself and was fired for that and many other infractions(yelling at co-workers in front of residents).One frightening thing is ,this guy is in school training to be a Doctor.I hope to hell he never gets his license.

THANKS! I should have guessed. Yeah, THAT is why I am not yelling from the rooftops I am autistic. PERCEPTION. ret*d comes from a french word meaning SLOW. In english it can also mean limited. I have come to realize that I am a bit slow sometimes. But slow doesn't mean stupid anymore than a slow turning wheel is weak. Some of the most powerful equipment on the planet moves slow. Yet still, you wouldn't want to be called ret*d, or even really slow. Besides, often a lot of people seem a LOT slower than I am and people say I am fast. So part of that IS my perception.

Yeah, interns ARE mistreated, but they ASK for it! It helps prepare them for the HARD times. My last operation took 13 hours! I don't know how long any particular person worked, but 13 hours is a LONG time, and you want to get it done ASAP!
