Do things effect us too much?

I follow this random girl on Twitter. I find her interesting.
She seems like a happy person. However, she seems to have the same complaints about other people that we do.
However, it does not seem to effect who she is or her happiness.
Could things just effect us too much which causes us to be antisocial?
