What makes Surfman find many of the postings here to be hurtful and offensive? Is this a general or specific comments and, if so, what is so hurtful and offensive? I, for one, would like to know.
FYI, the poll isn't quite granular enough for me. At times, I'm more disabled than at others. It about having PTSD since early childhood in addition to Asperger's (formal Dx), ADHD... the usual. Too much too fast clobbering in the PTSD part of me will cause serious de-compensation. Only within the past several months have I discovered (and have been taking) a medication which helps with extreme emotional pain from PTSD (which was very tough to sort from Melt Down experiences, triggered brief and strange atonal seizure events and caused me to skate precariously close to "I don't care whether I live or die" edge). Should this info be helpful to anyone else, it's the generic for Topomax.
I'm better than I WAS, although it is clear to me that it would be best for me to be living either on my own or in the presence of one or two other people who are much more like myself than where I'm living at present. I put up with a lot of BS before telling people off. The sort of people who spout BS and are generally not very smart with their minds but are with their mouths mistake my tolerance for weakness. This is a sad error. So? I'm kind of disabled at times. I still can't put up Xmas decorations without having panic attacks, but am not afraid of spiders, snakes, wild cats, wolves. When I hear a man yelling or cursing, I want to run away screaming even when it has nothing at all to do with me. Usually not a big deal about Xmas decorations because I'm a Buddhist, but when a friend or employer asks me to put up lights and I fall apart...? omg. So I've answered the question, but it's taken many more words than an if/then/else equation.
