Are you hypersensitive to "sliding friction"?

What I mean by sliding friction is when the surfaces of objects are rubbed against eachother.

Seeing, hearing, or feeling two surfaces rubbing against eachother makes me cringe. I find it unbearable to even think about.

This feeling especially bothers me when my hands feel too dry (like dehydrated).

The only thing I have that comes close to this is NEEDING to use that pink fingertip moistener (Sortkwik) when touching paper. I can't stand to touch paper without it.

I found it hard to use my iPhone at first because of the friction thing, but I'm mostly used to it now. And there's a visual illusion created that makes it seems like you're literally pushing a page up, which helps me forget I'm really swiping my finger up against glass. I have an added thing which is that if I can reverse the motion, I'm more comfortable about the friction. So if I rub against an item in one direction only, I'm uncomfortable, but if I rub it again in the other direction, I'm ok again. Not sure why, it's like I need to balance things up again, having disturbed them. That made iPhone even harder, as I was doing a lot of swiping in the same direction! Hope my description makes sense - it's hard to describe.

But isn't this a pretty common one in the general population, like nails on a blackboard?

OMG I'm like this when I'm reading. I can't bear to turn the page without licking my finger to touch the corner, I can't bear the awful dry feeling otherwise.

I also can't bear the feeling when my palms are dry, if I haven't got handcream I will even resort to licking my palms as the feeling of dry palm against dry palm is awful.

Metal against metal, like silverware or coins, used to do something terrible to me when I was younger. Not the incidental clinking noise, but actually rubbing them together. If I rubbed them together myself, it was magnified 10-fold. It felt like vibrations all through my bones. I thought they would burst out of my skin and that my teeth would pop out of my jaw.

As a kid, if I had coins, I would put them each in different pockets, and if I ran out of pockets, my shoes, socks, underwear, etc., just to be sure not to hear that sound. I hated carrying coins in my hand, too. Not from the germs but from the possibility that they might rub together.

It doesn't bother me as much now.

The haptic mouse on my laptop made my fingers feel as if the skin was being pulled back off of the nails. It also didn't help that due to poor skin conductivity and low blood pressure (which contributes to fingers that are as cold as a corpse lying in a refridgerater), I had to push my fingers against the surface to get it to register. I ended up purchasing a USB mouse, which was far more comfortable and reliable.

I also find the clinginess of pages in a new book and the glossy paper (especially if you inadvertantly drag a fingernail against the paper) some books use to be equally cringeworthy.

I hate rubbing my fingertips over things, but that's the only thing that bothers me.

I can't stand metal on metal. It's not the sound or sight of it, but when I'm holding a metal object and I accidentally scrape it against another, I get this really weird chill.

Yes!! A ton! But with specific things

The wiping sound that jeans make when the pant legs rub against each other when I walk
I don't like scratching anything, except my skin or hair...or a dog, I don't like the feeling my nails have when they scratch things
