I would like too take a train up too London every weekend too see the historical sites but is that not wise given how people with AS hate large crowds?

I am not sensitive too or anything like that..... I feel insecure and a lot of anxiety if I feel short or shorter than i usually would in crowded enviorments. Loud sounds can make me jump sometimes though.

That's more a question for you to answer than us...you'd know much better how you might be able to handle those kinds of situations ;). I've never been to London so I don't know what it's like, but I know around where I am historical sites typically don't get very crowded in the least (unless it's some big-name thing like the statue of liberty, of course). I've even been to a few civil war forts near me and I've been the only person in the whole place, besides the entrance guard!

Never ever let yourself be put off something because "people with AS aren't meant to like this".

No offense, but this is one of the worst examples of "becoming the stereotype" I've seen on here.

If your not sensitive to the crowds, and you want to go see the sites, DO IT.

Don't let stereotypes of AS define you. :)

I would say...

Pick wisely the weekends you do this.

No bank holiday weekends, not in the summer, etc. That will all help to minimise the croud aspect of things both on the train and in London. Unless you have a huge issue with it, going places during rainy weekends also cuts the other tourists down.

On the train, go to the car that does not allow mobile phones, as that would also make the journey that much nicer.
