his animals only seem to semi understand him

he doesn't mumble to himself enough or anything
i forget...did he have any unusual obsessions?

And he always appears in a 3-frame format - he's obsessive about routine.

I noticed that Jim Davis doesn't try too hard with his comics. I've seen some where he has dialogue in the first box then goes about 8 frames with absolutely nothing followed by the last frame with a bit more text.

Just because someone is a nerd and doesn't know how to get a date doesn't mean he has Aspergers. You can just be a nerd and not be an Aspie.

Agreed. I don't se Jon as having any obsessions. I think he's just a likable nerd, but not with AS in mind.

I don't know if he's an Aspie, but he sure seems a lot like me: Not good at getting dates, dorky but doesn't care what people think, and a little too obsessed with his cat.

Actually, now that Jon has a girlfriend (yes, yes, I read the strip), he's actually doing better than me in the love department.

Like Jon, I don't really care if I'm a big dork who loves his cat. I'm happy being me, that's all that matters.

I think John Arbuckle is an aspie; his obsessions seem to be golf and collecting bunny slippers, he relates more to Garfield than people, and he doesn't do well in dating. As for the cartoon itself, I've been reading it from a young age and am obsessed with it.
