Have you been referred to as a things person? I have, due to my interest in traffic lights, traffic cones, elevators etc.

"Things person" as opposed to what other types of persons?

Do you mean as a person with an interest in things instead of people?
Not in that manner, but I have made bounds to certain personal objects and my mother called me a thing person in that manner.
