When I used to live in Warrington, I spent three years living in Preston at Uni, and didn't really miss Warrington at all. I missed the friends I had in Warrington, but not really the town itself, but then when I moved back to Warrington after Uni it was really weird 'cos I really missed Preston. Now I live in Ludlow and sometimes when I'm away from here I do miss this place too, but as for my home town, don't really miss it one bit - except the friends there. If my friends were in another town then no I wouldn't miss Warrington at all, and if I become famous at all I'd probably write in a biography that I went to University at Preston, or that I'm originally from Lancashire (as the side of Warrington we always lived in was the traditional real Lancs. side) or even "near Liverpool" rather than admitting I come from Warrington (mind you, you'd only need to spend a week in Warrington to understand why I wouldn't want to be associated with that town - it's name certainly suits it - War-ing Town, it's full of pubs, and clubs and constantly on a Friday night the whole town centre is turned into a war zone with idiots and drunks). It wasn't just the fact it had pubs and clubs, it was what happened there, it made places like Manchester and Birmingham look mild. I think the main crescendo of it all was when Gary Newlove was murdered there and he wasn't even in the town centre at the time.
