I am having one of those off days. Having a hard time keeping things straight. Memory is just gone right now too.

Anyone have like a really "Off" day like you can't concentrate, brain fried, etc? Like your IQ dropped sharply 20 points? But yet some days it seems like you are smarter than other days.

Yes, I have off days, when my brain doesn't work.

*hugs*

I have these moments as well. Yesterday, for example, I woke up with a greater light sensitivity than usual and an unusually low threshold for frustration; needless to say, I jumped from my usual state of being on the mild, if not sub-clinical, end of the autistic spectrum to the more severe side at the birthday party for a thirteen-year-old that I attended that day.

If it is any reassurance, most people experience these sort of days; you are likely "burned out" from the stressful reality of our modern world, and your brain attempts to defend itself by shutting parts of itself off for a while so that it may recover. During these moments, it may be to your best advantage to relax and to rest as much as you possibly can.

I hope that you feel much better extremely soon. :)

I am having an off day. I have more than a few, usually 2-3 in any given week. My off days can be due to fatigue, pain, sensory overload, and emotional overload. Today is a combination of sensory and emotional overload.

I experience these "Off" days 3-4 days a week on average.

My job is very demanding socially...so I'd say I have about 2 off days a week. Exactly as you have described. I'm constantly behind at work because of them. I know they are coming when I get these visible tremors down my spine, it looks kind of like a shiver, only I'm not cold. It's just my nervous system telling me it's had too much input, I guess.

That is mutual, it happens to me as well. It seems it's been more frequent in general the past several years (or at least i noticed more).
I chalked it up to aging, yet i don't know...

I have them too, seems to be pretty random though.

I need to recalibrate my notion of good and bad days. Over the past seven days, I have actually had five bad days.

Yeah I have days like that quite often, it does get rather annoying.

Everyone has stress/illness-related "off" days. It's just a lot less obvious and talked-about if said "off day" person isn't disabled. If it is, it's simply a "bad day."
