After looking at a couple of recent threads in terms of visual processing and eye strain, I thought this link might be useful and interesting - it is an Irlen Syndrome Self-Test, and at the very least I found it helpful to use to explain some of my experiences to my doctor:

My results said "undefined" on all of them...not sure what I'm doing wrong.

It said undefined on all my answers too.

Waste of my time!

(although judging by the questions I believe I do have it, it's something I'd never heard of).

That is very interesting and I agree to a lot of it but then again I don't agree with some of it even though I have very bad light sensitivity.

Got undefined for all of them.

I've actually been evaluated for Irlen Syndrome. The evaluation is interesting. It made me feel quite ill, but it was quite interesting. I also got colored overlays. Mine are aqua+aqua+grey, that's my overlay color.

I'm working on getting tinted lenses now.

I had to fill out three different self test like forms before my evaluation (one for headaches, one general long one, and one for autistic people).

Huh - I just thought it was interesting, regardless of results. I used it as a tool to explain what was happening with my doctor just to zero in on what was up with the processing piece - I hadn't actually thought about how this test scored. My doctor was interested in how I used the questions themselves rather than the score to talk about what I was experiencing. Do you think it is useful to anyone if you ignore the score and just focus on using certain sections to describe your experiences?

Is there a glitch with the test?

Maybe you have to put 50 pence in the slot to see your scores!

There are other tests out there, but it doesn't appear you can get a score (because it seems all the assessing and treatment isn't free (I thought it might be available on the NHS in the UK), so maybe they won't allow free online tests either.

I found one on IrlenEast.com which kindly changed the screen from white to purple which was really soothing on the eye, once I'd ticked the boxes. I seriously must have this as I ticked loads of boxes and apparently you only need to tick 3 in any section to potentially have it.

It's weird this thread came up, because I've only been saying in the last few days how I hate driving at night and in the rain, how the street lights seem to glare and make my eyes go funny and I feel like I can't see 100% clearly driving at night. Coupled with my sensory issues (sensitivity to light as well as various other things) I really think I have it.

There might be a glitch. It makes you wonder.

All undefined, but I clicked on most of them.

I was a bit annoyed that the driving questions didn't have an option for "does not drive at all."

What they check for in those self tests is:

Section by section, do you check off 3 or more boxes? Carrying over between sections doesn't matter, but within each section, is it 3 or more?

If you check off 3 or more within individual sections then you might have Irlen syndrome is what they say.

The only section I checked two boxes in was a driving section, and I can't drive.
