Hello everyone

I think I meet with reserve the criteria for Asperger Syndrome (troth - every three - Gilberg, DSM and ICD.

I'm interested how it is to be diagnosed as Adult in Germany in specific (in EU as general). It is fully understandable that the help would be concentrated mostly on children, but can the adult also use public resources to be diagnosed.

If so, how such procedure looks like in Germany? I'm simply going to nearest clinic and contacting with doctor? What should I prepare? Can the diagnose be based only on talk with me, because anything else is out of option? I'm far from my family cross and they are non-German speaking anyway.

The best are:

- Psychiatry Freiburg (it's hard to get in for dx ASD at the moment)
- Isabel Dziobek (Berlin)
- Psychiatry Köln

It depends on the area you life. Others are also quite alright, but don't have the experience like Freiburg for example. Mannheim is also alright.

You just call there and ask how long you have to wait and maybe they'll send you some papework before and you should tell them as soon as possible that your family is non-German speaking and so on. So that they know, that they can't contact them for further questions about your childhood.

Thank you for your response.

I'm more interested in lerning how it looks general like. At most, is the diagnosis for adult payed private or by state. And should I go directly to clinic or should contact first contact doctor for example first.
