Does anyone else ever get thoughts, names, words, or other random noises or sounds stuck in their head on repeat? I don't know if it is echolalia, but it happens to me often and it is extremely annoying.

I mimic things I hear sometimes, if that counts. Don't try to, it just happens.

Perhaps, but it isn't like it conveys understanding. I'm utterly useless with foreign languages, but what few things I do know I can use the correct accent for.

Yes, I have that. I also repeat certain phrases in most cases in my head, e.g. if I hear an interesting sentence in a movie.
I'm not sure if it counts to echolalia too, but often I even wake up with an entire song stuck in my head which I don't even recall anymore (name or band).
It is only annoying if it is one of the modern pop-song I dislike or a word I can't stand.

On the other side, it's like an mp3-player in my head in that case so in case I forgot my mp3-player, I can still "listen to music".

When it becomes an obsession combined curiosity and good memory it can be useful.

I tend to repeat words and phrases I've heard without really meaning to.

The one that seems to come up lately is "Chill out" in a bad German accent, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why I would ever want to try to imitate Arnold Shwarzenegger's portrayal of Mr. Freeze at any point in my life, and I cannot. I haven't even seen that movie since the 90s.

I tend to have a lot of delayed echolalia and there were times when I used delayed echolalia for a lot of my communication.

I often have music replaying in my head, and sometimes I talk to myself, acting out epic conversations of imaginary characters. o.O

I can get the same goddamn song stuck in my head for weeks a time. It is so annoying. I'll also repeat short phrases that sound good to me, sometimes in funny voices.

Is that stuff strictly echolalia, though? I've read the definitions of echolalia, but haven't yet developed a distinctive understanding of what it is.

I think i have 'Palilalia' which i think is basically reverse Echolalia.

ever since childhood, i would repeat my own words and talk to myself.

I get things stuck in my mind, too. Sometimes my cat meows in a funny way, and I repeat the sound over and over, while the memory of that sound keeps repeating over and over in my head. Also bits of commercials, or dialogue from a movie will get stuck in my head until I am heartily sick of it.

Echolalia is when you repeat something after someone says it. Sometimes i have a tendency to do this so for example is someone says to me "cat" i will repeat "cat" after them. I don't repeat whole sentences. I have repeated several words at times though.

I'm not sure what you call when you get random noises or sounds stuck in your head on repeat, however there was another category of thread in this forum about constant music in people's heads and they might have the term you are looking for there.
