What to do when I meet my idol
My dad asked me today about this upcoming convention for bands. I love playing my guitar. I have been playing for years and sort of started my own band. We have played for small areas like birthday parties and stuff. But at this convention I found out the person who got me started IS GOING TO BE THERE!! !! ! I nearly had a heart attack. I have watch hours upon hours of videos and now I get to meet this person in person. The band is not that popular but I love them so much. I was wanting to know what I should do when I meet them. I read don't go freaking out over them since people don't like that. But I was wondering if there was anything I could say to let them let me hang out with them. I am pretty popular on YouTube for my music but I am not going to say who I am. I really really REALLLLLYYYY want to talk with them. I am seen videos on the Internet about people meeting them and they are very very friendly. I just don't want to say anything or look like I have autism. Please please help me. I know they may not let anyone hang out with them but I don't want to look weird if they would

I think you've absolutely got to play it cool. Your best bet would be to not get your hopes up at all; the odds are slim by nature, even if you were their age and equally as popular. When I'm in situations like that, where I'm over-awed by someone or something and potentially on the brink of saying something ridiculous or acting crazy, I kind of try to emulate the 'cool' vibe a lot of Hollywod stars portray in film. Maybe like Brad Pitt in the Ocean's movies...just calm, collected and personable (that's how I remembered him, anyway). Since those traits don't really naturally befit my personality, copying them is the next best thing and I'm usually able to pull it off. You could go the other way and say to hell with expectations and simply be yourself though as long as you don't get creepy, touchy or crazy, I bet the musician will be excited to hear that he was your primary influence.
