When I briefly saw a therapist past December, I had a funny misunderstanding. I told him about how I took a cruise in spring of 2012, and it made me question my entire career choice. (Why? The great experiences I had made me realize how IT people get mistreated in every job.) When I was telling him about it, the conversation went something like this
Therapist: "Who did you go with?"
Aspie1: "Carnival."
Therapist: "No, I meant which people came on the cruise with you?"
Aspie1: "Oh, I went solo."
The rest of the conversation in irrelevant to this thread. I'm sure my response was skewed. In the cruising community, "who" is often used to refer to the cruise line, and "solo" is a respectful way of saying "alone". I use that term to refer to myself when telling people about my cruise; they understand it, but I've never heard any non-cruisers use it.
Anyway, I'm wondering how other aspies would interpret this question. Whether or not you've cruised before, give your answers. (Mods, move this thread if you feel that you must, but I'd rather you didn't.)
