Ned help getting through change

This probaly sounds like I'm crazy but I am really upset about this. I have had this pair of eye glasses for 3 years now. Today I went to the eye doctor and my eyes are worse they have to again change my prescription. I didn't care because for the last two times they piped my old lences out and piped in the new one and it was done Ina few days. But the doctor said that the glasses are in to rough of a shape after three years and I need new ones. I thought ok fine ill just pick out my glasses again and be done. It turns out the model of my glasses don't exist anymore. They don't sell them at all. I was really getting upset. But then my mom starts rushing me saying we have to get going pick out a pair and they will fill out the stuff and we can pick it up in about a week. So I tried on about 10 pairs but I didn't like any exempt 1. It had the same size lences and looked similar. But now instead of having a small metal strip going from the glasses back to the ears it has the large think plastic one. I am so annoyed they don't have my kind and I picked those because I was rushing and she paid like $300+ for them so I really can't say anything now. But I am worried I won't like them and I will miss these. I know this sound like I am a crazy nutso but I am really upset. I don't know what to do

I don't think you are crazy for wanting the RIGHT pair of frames. If you are like me, they are a part of your every waking moment, and changing them is rather like getting a new nose (only not quite as permanent). I am very sorry you were rushed through choosing this pair and can only hope you are comfortable in them when they arrive.

Maybe get some second hand ones online?

Give yourself some time, if you're like me you'll be upset about it for awhile and then you'll adjust.

theres a good chance you can change the plastic part out to a metal one
its just held in with a pin or a screw most of the time
