Strong winds make me feel afraid. I feel like I am in danger.

My parents said I had a traumatic birth and that on the night I was born there were strong winds.

Does anyone like strong winds?

I shift between loving and fearing them! When there is a big storm I get very excited about it! And will want to go step outside and play

Yet oddly enough when I'm walking outside wind is often overstimulating for me.

I don't like strong winds as they can be really dangerous here and tear apart houses. We can get hurricanes.
Yet when we get the normal strong winds off the river (river is a walk away) it's a cold strong wind and i don't like cold wind blowing at me. If i am riding my bike sometimes i have to ride against the cold wind.
When its really stormy out and the winds starts picking up we go inside or we get caught in a monsoon

I'm afraid of strong winds, but only due to the fact that I live in a place where firestorms are common, and strong wind causes small brush fires to become 100-mph firestorms which can take thousands of houses before the firefighters can get control.

If it weren't for that fact, I probably wouldn't have an issue with wind (except for nuisances like blowing dust & dirt, and hinderance at trying to do outdoor (farm) work.

I dislike strong winds for practical reasons.

It can destroy the fences and repairing them can cost.
If it's also raining, then even with an umbrella, I get very wet.
Sand or dirt particles can get into my eye.
It's just uncomfortable when I'm out.
My hair can get messy.
If it happens where my parents and siblings live (very far), then I fear for their safety.

If I lived in a place like kx250rider I would most certainly also be afraid of strong wind! Where I live we don't have firestorms or anything like that so the worst that the wind usually does is blow a few fences down and blow a few tiles from some rooves. My friend lived in an flat where his bedroom had a loose chimney stack (probably 500lb of bricks) pretty much directly above his bed. Occasionally a single brick would fall from the chimney stack down on to the roof. He was very afraid of the wind til he moved from there :p

edit: We also don't get hurricanes here. My country (the UK) is not my favourite place on earth but one BIG positive thing that can be said for it is this: we get very few natural disasters or EXTREME weather events.

edit again:spelling.

Reading your posts makes me feel like my fear is irrational because where I live we don't often suffer hurricane force winds.

I think my fear is primitive or an instinctive fear, but I don't get fear from any other form of weather.

I would love to see a tornado though, but I reckon it would scare me.

I like strong winds because their sound makes me laugh.

I don't care about strong winds, but for some reason, I have trouble breathing in them.

I'm exactly the opposite; I've spent my entire life obsessed with high wind events and windstorms are my foremost special interest. I think it's similar to heights/skydiving; some people turn the fear and adrenaline associated with heights into an action they adore, while others simply seek to avoid the sensations. Witnessing a dangerous weather phenomena is terrifying, for me as well, but I absolutely love it at the same time. There's nothing on the planet more exciting to me, actually.
