Ever since I can remember I have been mesmerized by bright objects on a black background. I remember a childrens book I used to love because it had drawn pictures of berries and mushrooms on black backgrounds. I didn't care about the story, I just stared at the pictures for hours because they felt good. Even the memory of that book 35+ years later feels good. I can still just sit and stare at these types of images for hours.

I want to know if you guys find certain things mesmerizing. Can you show examples and explain why you're fascinated by it? Here are some examples of images that I am fascinated with.

I can't post pictures but I seem to be mesmerize by things that are tiny. For example if I'm sitting waiting for the bus and I look down to see an ant or even better several ants I can get lost just watching them for a long time. The way they move mesmerizes me.

I can often get attached to small objects because they're small. Tiny is enticing to me.

I could spend all day in an art museum. From the subject matters, to the visual harmonies, to the physical properties of the media that was used, to imagining the mindsets behind them--love it! The one thing that can ruin it is a bad docent. I used to love photography pre Photoshop too, when photographers would play with images and exposures in the darkroom.
