Does anybody know of any therapists specializing or very good with Aspergers in young adults in Northern Virginia? Or any resources to help locate one?
Thanks.

I went to a university (I live near Richmond and I contacted VCU) and contacted their Psychiatry Department and asked if they could recommend anyone specializing is Aspergers. I have found that most universities have "cutting edge" Psychiatry Depts. That is how I got my diagnosis when I was in my late 40s.

Where i live i've been trying to find one who specialize also, yet one that will take my insurance.

I have a regular psychologist since i moved here, yet i am going to ask him if he can actually help me with Spectrum related issues.
You never know, he might be willing to learn..

It is a pain to find Asperger-specialty therapists in Indianapolis...that will cater to adults. There are more than plenty who specialize in children with ASD. What's with people thinking that autism stops at your adult years? The closest I ever got was a college counselor who claimed to have had experience in dealing with Aspergers...which later turned out to be an obvious lie. So I am having trust issues when it comes to the decision of going back to therapy.
