Currently, I don't seem to be obessed with anything to the same intensity as I have been in the past. I feel a bit lost. But right now i'm interested in:

Psychology/Abnormal Psychology
The Autism Spectrum
Music
Losing Weight
Reading and collecting books. (Mainly fiction and books about ASD, not limited or special editions).

I might also be on the verge of getting back into Harry Potter, which is, so far, my longest ever running obsession, apart from reading in general. :)

Everybody seems to have really interesting obsessions!

My obsessions are science non-fiction and crime non-fiction
These have been my special interests for the last 8 years

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. But rather than an obsession I see yours and others more as passions in this thread. I hope you pursue it because Judaism is a wonderful religion and you sure couldn't find friendlier people. There are many Jewish forums around. You will have a whole new outlook on Judaism once you get to know some of the Jewish folks. When I lived in Chicago as a child there were still a lot of Jews in our neighborhood including one that owned a store at the end of the block. They are were such wonderful neighbors.

OBSESSION OR PASSION?

Obsession
1. Compulsive preoccupation with a fixed idea or an unwanted feeling or emotion, often accompanied by symptoms of anxiety.
2. A compulsive, often unreasonable idea or emotion.
Passion
1. A powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger.
a. Ardent love.
b. Strong sexual desire; lust.
c. The object of such love or desire.
a. Boundless enthusiasm: His skills as a player don't quite match his passion for the game.
b. The object of such enthusiasm: Soccer is her passion.
4. An abandoned display of emotion, especially of anger: He's been known to fly into a passion without warning.

Agreed, passion is a better description because obsession implies unwanted and related to anxiety but I think people are referring to the restrictive, repetitive interests that are a symptom of Asperger's. There can be an obsessive quality to these interests because people "have to" preform certain routines related to them and/or they take over the person's life and exclude most other activities or they're an interest in something really unusual and narrow. Special interest is actually a more accurate term given the dictionary definition of special.
definition

1: distinguished by some unusual quality; especially : being in some way superior <our special blend>
2: held in particular esteem <a special friend>
3a : readily distinguishable from others of the same category : unique <they set it apart as a special day of thanksgiving>
b : of, relating to, or constituting a species : specific

4: being other than the usual : additional, extra
5: designed for a particular purpose or occasion

but still not a great word because it often has a connotation of being superior and it doesn't capture all the aspects of these interests...........we need a new term!

It seems to be WP anymore, but part of that is playing with my new tablet. I'm always searching for unique teas, and want to see more movies from Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Delicatessen was one of the most satisfying movies I've seen in a while. I also have a few books on yogic philosophy to get to....

Jeunet is one of my personal favorites. I was finally able to get Le Bunker de la Dernière Rafale (an industrial band used samples from the film in their songs and images in their album art, which piqued my interest) a few years ago. Delicatessin and La Cite des Enfants Perdus are rather good films (and I usually hate movies).

The majority of my current obsessions have to do with the past. These include the Georgian era (1714-1811) Regency era (1812-1820) Victorian era (1837-1901) and Edwardian era (1901-1910)

I'm also obsessed with classical music and composers. And astro science.

The Lego Indiana Jones video game. I started playing it on Sunday and it's Wednesday now here in Australia and I've already done 10 levels, unlocked about 30 characters, unlocked about 8 extra stuff. I've done all this in about 5 hours of playing.

Also, the song Uptown girl by Billy Joel and the song beautiful girl by Sean Kingston.

Mine would be electrical plugs from different countries,
my favourites are the German Schuko plug, and the BS-1363 (UK plug).

I wish more homes in the US would be dual voltage, using both the
120 volt US/CAN sockets and for higher powered things, the
Schuko and/or the BS-1363 socket.

I have made it a point to make all of my things universal
voltage compatible with the correct plugs/cables that I
can connect at the power supply connector instead of using
heavy clunky conversion transformers and adapters that
can get dinkled (lost or stolen), I just pull out the flexcord
that I need, and connect it where ever I may travel.
