I'm terrible at it.

Most of the time, when I have to guess someone's age, I have a vague 30-year-period in my head that I would put them into. I find it very hard to be more precise. And when I try to, I often fail horribly.

An example: the girl in this trailer.

Apparently she is supposed to be 14. When I read that it was a shock to me because so far, I had been pretty certain I was looking at a 25 year old woman. And still, she looks much older than 14 to me.

Are you bad at guessing someone's age?

I am terrible at guessing people's ages. I can even see no difference between a guy or 16 and one of 30.

You know what? the funny thing is, when I was in my 20s, and in my teens even, I was really good at guessing people's ages. Now that I'm almost 40, I have a hard time with it. I'm usually off by several years. Maybe it's a lack of exposure to my own age group anymore. Even with guessing what people perceived to be my own age, was easy. When I was in my late 20s, I still looked in my early 20s, and everyone told me that - looking in the mirror, I could see where they were coming from, I did have a younger look. Not so much now, and I can tell that I look about my age. But can't surmise others' ages.

I'm extremely good at judging age by physical attributes because I can take in details and analyze them. If I had to judge by someones personality I wouldn't have a clue.

i like to make people feel better about themselves by telling them they look younger than they are. :)

The Gameinformer mag had the preview about The Last of Us, it sounded like a neat game, did it come out yet?
A lot of times its hard for me to judge ages. A lot of folks around here either look older than they are or they look about their age.
So its a hit or miss i guess. I have a hard time narrowing certain folks with age range 25-40 sometimes

i am decent in guessing in relation to my own age, as in, about the same, slightly younger, slightly older, young enough to be my child, old enough to be my parent, that kind of age brackets.
most of that is trough behaviour though,, i wont be able to tell by looks alone (well, prepubesent and retirement age are obvious, but between those).

that being said, the example you gave was animated, from a game, dont try to guess the intended ages of animated characters, i doubt even NTs are able to do that accurately

I always look at their skin to guess people's age.

I had a bad experience of trying to guess someone's age and upsetting that person. He shouldn't have asked me to guess any way, if he was going to be upset. He looked like in his 40's to me, so I just said it. Then he turned out to be in his early 30's. He looked really upset and sad. After that experience I always subtract 5 to 10 from what I think is someone's age when I'm asked to guess. That worked one time. Someone asked me to guess his age. I thought he was 45. So I said 35. He turned out to be 34. Lucky that I subtracted 10. I think in this country where I live, because of the strong sun, people's skin often age prematurely.

But in general I avoid talking about age and other personal things because I don't want to be asked my age or any other personal questions.

It's computer graphics. What do you expect?
OK, in this case, she's a bit small for 25, but I'm sure that the voice actor is not a kid.
