Hi, i would like to hear some ways to manage social anxiety, im 20 years old male, with asperger,OCD,ADHD,etc.
Is just, is starting to get me problems in my life, i had to retire the last semester of college because of this and high depression, and i have to wait until august to get back to college, and now just wanting to keep my mind busy i tried to go to a french course near to my house, i couldnt stand being there with those people, i was near to get a meltdown, it was hell for me, 4 hours of high anxiety.
I really want to study, and i know that when i get back to college is going to be the same, because i almost never went to classes because of this, but i need to get use to it, im in process of getting some psychotherapy, and im not thinking in using psychiatric drugs(i have already tried antipsychotics and antidepressants, they are too hard for me, they put me into zombie state and the side-effects always attack me until i stop the medicine)
So i come here to seek for help, i know there is a lot of aspies here and maybe some of you have found a way to control social anxiety, maybe drinking some herbal tea, or something else, thanks for advanced, and apologize my bad english.

Maybe go to school part-time, or even online.
When you feel stressed in a situation like the one you describe, try to focus on your breathing and making it steady and deep. Also, force yourself to relax your muscles.

Hi rixxar12
I have a lot of trouble dealing with social anxiety so I do avoid it as well. I have discovered being around children 3 -5 years of age actually make me feel better and forget about the anxiety. This might sound weird but I work at a child care centre with children in the babies room and to release the anxiety I go into the kindy room and the children flock to me calling out my name and I feel great. They are honest and imaginative and will talk your ear off when I want to be quiet and I get to just listen to them and I relax and I'm at peace. They don't expect much and just watching them play together makes me smile and laugh.

Pictures of my nieces and nephews I carry with me wherever I go and look at them constantly and they make me smile and relax when I think of how they would handle this social anxiety.
Just a suggestion what if you go to a park and watch children playing and seeing them being unaware of adult trouble and how carefree children are will relax you and help you sort through your mind.
