I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who love smelling certain items associated with computers?

I love the smell of CD's and DVD's that is kept in the plastic container all of the time. When I got my first computer which was a TRS 80 color , I love to smell it also. I have something around here that also smells like that TRS-80 computer. But I don't remember what it was and the smell is probably gone by now.

I love the smell inside the pages of new magazines, I just stick my face right in there and inhale deeply!

Love freshly opened/unpakaged technology. I've always loved opening new DVDs Blurays Videogames. Videogame manuals used to hold the smell too (unfortunately videogame manuals have become smaller in favor of green e-manuals...which is a good thing I guess). The thing about opening DVDs etc is that there is not only the smell, but the sterile no-human-has-touched this-flawless-piece-of-plastic sensation too. As for computers that have lost most of their smells, I do kind of like the warm smell where the heat escapes from the top of LCD monitors.

I love the smell of new motherboards and video cards, I often keep the box around just to smell every once in awhile.

Full of manufacturing goodness from all those fresh chemicals...love it

I used to like the smell of printer ink when a large printer was printing things (the device would heat up and give off a smell).

When I finished building my computer in late 2010 it made my whole room smell like "New Computer" for a few weeks. I loved it.

The new surround sound speakers I got for it last year also made my room smell like new technology for a while, too.

I discussed this with my brother once, how I loved the smell of new computers, newly opened DVD's and generally any newly unpackaged electrical/technical equipment, and while he agreed that the smell was nice he also informed me that those smells I liked was mainly the leftover toxic gasses from the production of the various components used to make said doo-dads...

So, I no longer inhale as deeply as I used to, while I still enjoy the smell and the excitement, heheh..

I love the citrus smell of Artic Silver Thermal Material Remover 1. A small waft sends me to thermal interface replacement heaven.
