I'm not at school anymore, but I go to adult learning facilities, which are also on holiday right now. I experience anxiety about this too.

From that I can deduce that you are in the UK. Yes, I hate there being lots of children all over the place (and I'm a parent!) I hate the noise of them screaming in the street/gardens when they play, and I hate it that it makes everywhere so much busier, because when the children are off at least one parent is off to look after them too and they go out en mass taking everything over.

deduce, like sherlock holmes, thats cool, with me its not really the noise or people i think it might be the lack of a school routine but i cant be certain.

I'm not at school any more but I used to love the school holidays when I was a child. The last day always made me feel excited. Probably because I disliked the idea of going to school and the school holidays felt like a break.

Agree, I always broke the school year down into small blocks bookended by holidays and PD days then always looked forward to the closest one. Thats how I got through the days knowing in a few weeks or days my much needed break was coming.

Then again work is the same like this Monday is family day so I have a 3 day weekend, Christmas eve is a great shift for me becouse I know I have at least 2-4 days off only a few short hours away and my co-workers and customers are usually in a great sprits too, stat pay is a bonus too, getting paid to sit at home and do nothing in my room!

Oh - by the way, when I said ''last day'', I meant the last day of school before breaking up for the holiday, in case some people might have thought I meant the last day of the holiday. :)

I didn't feel any anxiety during school holidays while I was in school. I enjoyed my holidays because I was far away from my narrow minded peers who saw me as some "ret*d" to be avoided. It was when I had to go back to school after my breaks that I've felt all the anxiety.

I generally feel anxious at the end of holidays, but not the beginning or the middle. Holidays are much better than going to school.

I'm not as pickey, I would take and look forward to any holiday I could get my hands on, anything to get away from that dump was like gold to me. If that ment simply a long weekend i'd be more then fine with that. The summer holiday was the best though becouse it was longest and that way I could establish my routine around it instaid of hanging around the house for 1/2 the day doing next to nothing, not that I disliked that either.
