In Kabul.

Would you do it for ~5 times of your current income?

the other possibility is in Baghdad.

But Kabul is the most probable.

No. Although it sounds interesting, I couldn't even imagine going there. I'm not a risk taker. I don't think I could ever go outside of my safety zone - some countries that I deem relatively safe.

Sounds like a great opportunity! You should take it.

As I currently have no job (High school student) and make no money; 0 x 5 = 0.

So, this has no benefit for me.

The last time I calcuated by income it was 10 dollars so for 50 dollars could not even get me there.

My current income is about nothing, as I'm unemployed. So I'd go if they got me a plane ticket and a place to stay. I get along great with the Pakistanis I know, and it'd be fun going to an open air market and buying AKs to shoot at rocks out in the desert. Good food there, too. Lower murder rate than USA, technically, also.

I'd go no problem, especially this year, as this year seems like it's gonna be a year of pain and drudgery where I am now. So as long as I got a place to stay and like 20-30k for the year I'd be happy with just going for the experience.

I have contractor friends and they know it's not worth the inflated paycheck. My husband has deployed so he's done the time without the inflated paycheck. It messes with your head, you have no freedom/privacy, conditions are terrible, and you have to reintegrate to standard society once your contract is up which is hard and alienating for most everyone who goes into that environment. It will hurt your friends, family, relationships, marriage (if you have one).

I would not do it, think about why they're trying to bribe people with that joke of a check that won't go very far outside of complete isolation in a tent on a base in Kabul. For real, look at the big picture here...

Not for five times my current income, which - counting food stamps - is under $400/month.

Now, if it were for at least 50,000/year and hopefully more than that, I would certainly give it serious consideration.

Ok, something to be clarified.

It's my current employer who wants to send me there - for an newly established project.

He said I have the right to decline but he hinted that the decline would make me stuck in my local dead-end job.

I've actually thought about it before. I'm a nurse, but if I was the type they were looking for, I probably would've been there already. I have nothing to tie me down to the city I'm currently living in, so, why not?
