That would be the Statler Brothers, not to be confused with S t a t e r Brothers, which is a chain of grocery stores in California

I'm affected very much by the tones in the voices of the song singers, recently have 'tuned in' to the Lioness CD of Amy Winehouse. Sadness, wistful regret, I connect with that.

Most favourite though for me is Ray Charles:

Particularly "You Don't Know Me" and "Still Crazy After All These Years".

There's a deep aloneness in me which both of those songs connect with and express - the tristesse of the failure to be loved as I hoped to be loved. Sad songs, which express the sadness I can't express, won't express, don't express. But the songs do that for me and I experience happiness connecting with them. That make any sense?

"Sweet Revenge" and "Diamonds in the Rough," by John Prine.

I love "My Life" by Billy Joel, too. Also "You May Be Right." "Remember when I found you there, alone in your electric chair? I told you dirty jokes until you smiled..."

Sad songs... "On the Turning Away" and "Hey You," by Pink Floyd. I don't think there is such thing as as Aspie who doesn't relate to The Wall. Nine Inch Nails, "Something I Can Never Have."

The number one AS song of my life: "Iris," by The Goo Goo Dolls. "I don't want the world to see me, 'cause I don't think that they'd understand. When everything's made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am."

"Perfect," by PINK!

"Tightrope," by Leon Russel.

"All Apologies," by Nirvana. So cheerful, such a great attitude.

"Wings that don't reach"

A theme song from a japanese game titled Raibu A Raibu (Live A Live, the second word "Live" is flipped, changing it to "Evil", kind of like that very old black and white movie: The son of Dracula, where Dracula is spelled backwards, creating the name Alucard) and there is no lyrics to it. It's purely instrumental and I thought the title of the song was very suitable.
