I blew my nose and feel better!
Well technically I did the "The Valsalva Maneuver" where you pop your ears by pinching your nose and blowing. All of a sudden I was able to hear al the high frequency environmental noise like birds chirping and trees rustling. I haven't been this aware of them for perhaps years! Anyway I've been doing it all day and I feel pretty good. Could be placebo, could be not. I'm going to keep doing it.
I got the idea from this website: http://www.soundtherapy.com.au which I have been looking at for a while. Apparently some autistic kids have ears canals that block out high frequency noise for whatever reason and therefore are mainly conscious of the lower end of the frequency spectrum. This replicates the fight or flight response which causes the brain to cut out awareness of high freqencies in preference for lower ones when in danger. The matter is explained better here: http://www.soundtherapy.com.au/v3/sound ... utism.html I'm thinking of buying it.
Perhaps you need to get your ears syringed by a medical professional. They sound as if they're blocked.
I thought you were going to say "I blew my nose and it came off".

...I thought you were going to say that blowing your nose cured your autism!
BTW, I don't know what getting your "ears stringed" involves but it sounds gruesome...I think you should try getting them syringed instead
