Hi, I'm a 42 year old male and was diagnosed last April with HFA. I would say I am more placed at the lower end of the spectrum. Married, kids, job.

One of the main problems I have is with mood. I can have terrible mood swings although more recently I've not been too bad. The last couple of days I have had quite a low mood and an apathy to do very much. Today at work however as the day progressed I experienced an improvement in mood becoming quite positive and joking around. The thing is I find my mood increases to the point where I start feeling as though I'm ranting and becoming too vocal and opinionated. Now I'm home my mood has become quite low again.

Does anyone else get this feeling inside of ranting etc? My work colleagues have in the past said I'm not ranting and raving but they could just be being polite!

It seems like you should talk to a counselor.

At least your mood swings haven't affected your job performance. If it does, it's IMPERATIVE that you talk to a therapist.

If you're married, have kids, and a job, you are considered to be on the "higher" end of the Spectrum, rather than the "lower" end.
