Are there any specific sounds that give you the shivers? I tend to get the shivers when it's dead silent in a room with the exception of someone typing away quickly at a computer. The sounds bees make also gives me the shivers (I'm terrified of them!).

Wispering sends shivers down my spine because the person has to get close to you inorder for you to listen.

Well, people eating don't bug me as long as they keep their mouths closed, etc.... I CAN understand starbulines problem with it though, of course. Lauras deal about the whispering is one I REALLY hate! ESPECIALLY when it is nonsense, etc....

I WOULD mention the touchy feely jerks, like one on my last plane flight, or the ones that want to TRAP your hand when possible(like they put a hand under yours while using the other hand to give you money they owe you) WHAT IS IT with people that think you want them to touch you?!?!?, but that was touching. 8-(

I guess the feedback, or people with nasal voices, or that have their mouth too close to the mike that use the PA!

The sound of millet brooms sweeping on abrasive surfaces like concrete made me want to run a mile as a kid, and sounded far worse to me than finger nails on a blackboard.
I am a bit more used of it now but I still hate the sound of millet brooms on wet concrete just a much as I ever did.
Another sound I hate is the sound of horses farting. They just seem to do at some pitch that really gets to me.

The sound of chalk screeching over a blackboard (or most other scraping sounds). Makes me cringe and get this involuntary cold shudder just to imagine it.

I can't feel temperature, but oddly enough I would rather be cold than hot.

The sound of cutlery scraping on plates makes me shiver. That's about it really... Oh, whiteboard pens squeaking on whiteboards makes me shiver too.

A sudden high pitched scream usually leaves me feeling cold.

Re: The chalk on the blackboard trick, did that at school several times when the teachers were late for class if someone was annoying me usually, but once or twice out of pure badness!

Fingers being scratched down a black board, or forks/knives slipping across a plate to create a big squeak or screech noise. That goes right through me, almost like torture.

Loud static on the TV. The Missus used to walk away after she turned off the DVD, and let the static blare. I would dive for the remote to turn it off, and she never understood it was nerve-wracking...

I get the shivvers, all the time. Even in the summer, I get them. I find myself wrapped in a blanket, all months out of the year. I get this feeling that I'm protected from the world, when I'm shivering and wrapped up in a blanket.

Some of the ones that have been mentioned on this thread already: people eating, whispering, cutlery on plates. Also can't stand those people who make a whistling sound when they pronounce their s's. Or the high-pitched, lispy sound of very small childrens' voices.

All of the above place me at a point between screaming and being sick.

I get the worst shivers from brushes. I hate touching them, the only exception being my toothbrush and I hate the noise they make. I threw tantrums when I was asked to brush my teeth as a child and only recently I have gotten around goose bumps and that sick feeling in the pit of my stomach whenever I brush my teeth, but I still get it from time to time.

I still can't stand other people using brushes that make any noise.

Good music also makes me shiver; but in delight! I love musicals.
