I have a sensitivity to touch, I hate it when people touch me, and every little amount of pain hurts a lot. I am also highly ticklish, and am very picky about what clothing I wear because many textiles are too hard, make me too sweaty, and are too uncomfortable. And I constantly have to fix my underwear as they are too uncomfortable, and don't make it feel right down there.
But from reading a lot about "tactile sensitivity" I always hear of people who need to wash their hands all the time, or cried when being picked up as a child, and otherwise negative impulses about touch. I am not like that. I enjoy touch as well as hate it. I'd dig my hands into sand, uproot grass and plants and feel them all over, I have a pillow that I feel all over as well. I place my hand against the walls in the hallway when I walk down it. When I was little, I used to sit on the carpet, and rub my hands back and forth on it, as it was so calming, I loved it! I am VERY touchy-feely, like a raccoon.
So I am curious, does tactile sensitivity only refer to touch that one does not like? Or can tactile sensitivity also refer to the love of touch as well?
