And they still don't get it...

http://www.care2.com/causes/extremely-loud-we-have-drowned-out-the-natural-landscape.html

They're driving the entire planet crazy, if you read this article, and they're so locked into "it's just a little noise", they don't even get it. :wall: And they think there's something wrong with us?

No, I'm not saying NTs are all horrible - just that being NT is as much of a "disorder" (that is, has as many pointless maladaptive issues that go along with it) as being on the spectrum. We're just different, and the things we get wrong are different. I wish they'd admit that. Heck, if we could learn to listen to each other, we might even manage to cancel out the worst mistakes on both sides.

Yes! When will "Neurotypical Syndrome" be added to the DSM? DSM V-TR maybe? Seriously, if we can manage to put a label on everyone, even NT's, maybe we won't be ostracized anymore.

And also, back to the OP topic, I believe it has been widely believed that humans will be the ultimate destroyer for planet earth in the end. The only question is, will humans figure out how to leave here before earth is no longer inhabitable and on to another suitable planet that we can later destroy.

The thing is that NTs can adjust to the point where they don't notice it. Note that the author says he was affected because he'd grown used to a quieter setting.

They say if you drop a frog into a pan of hot water, he'll jump right out, but if you put him in a pan of room temperature water, then slowly heat it up, he'll stay there until he dies. Well, NTs are even dumber than those frogs - because they're the ones heating up the water they're sitting in. (Again, my point is not that NTs are all bad - simply that they have some behaviours and traits as absurd as anything they accuse us of. If we could just admit that we were all human, and try to figure out how to work together, that wouldn't be so bad.)
