What is an aspergers idea of heaven on earth?
I don't fully agree with this one. I like social interaction. However, I'd like to be able to just say "leave me alone" when I'm not up to it, and not offend the other person.
Fully agree.
Fully agree. I'd give anything to be around decent understanding people, with no interruption by intolerant asssholes.
To live in a world where individuality, not conformity, is valued.
Just a simple stress-free life for me. I don't know if it's something I just want as an Aspie, or if it's a life dream most people would want, but my idea of heaven of Earth would be:-
Win a lot of money to last a lifetime
OR
Have a descent caring partner who has a very well-paid job and tells me I don't have to work, and I can just be a housewife just having every day to feel free to do as I wish, without no pressure except from myself as my own boss. No neighbours too near, and the nearest people are really friendly and ''country'' people, so they're more into wildlife and peace, rather than noise and cities and all up with the stupid trends. Yes, I would love to live out in the countryside, or down by the sea. I just want a simple life.

OK yes I agree I do like some interaction but at times like you say need to be able to say Leave me alone without offending, which only works for family members who know be best I guess, could never get away with it at work
Fully agree.
Thank you

That second one seems quite realistic. =)
My heaven would probably be making my own games, making more than ennough money on it. I would probably live outside a city with none else near but with the city centre withinn bicycle distance. And either living with a partner or having a partner live nearby ( not sure if I would be able to live with someone over longer periods of time. ) I also have a dream about doing small gigs at a local café of some sorts. With a few regular people that came to listen. If I can achieve all that, then I have pretty much all I want. Unless I have forgotten something, in which case I don't have all I want =P

A quiet, peaceful environment, like a home near the beach where I could go for a walk through a nature preserve and see wild animals and not humans.
Enough money in the bank to not have to work for a living but to be able to pursue a hobby, like silversmithing.

I already got a life like the second part. Though I have to say it's not very interesting, even with two kids. I'm trying my best as a mother and wife, but I really don't enjoy taking care of people or meeting expectations of the world. Having school-age kids means a lot of rigid schedules, appointments, activities, homework supervising, play dates, plus the usual cooking cleaning and laundry. Plus other people judge you and tell you how to live your life. If you want peace don't become a mother. Oh and abandon your relatives, too if you can. I like friends because you do have a choice.

I'd like a world of people who actually try to understand each other instead of making hurtful assumptions. After a lifetime of people assuming you're rude/uncaring when you're just a different type of animal, it gets old. And where there's a respect for perfectionism, and the acknowledgement that we need perfectionists in the world.

Honestly? A world that suffers an apocalypse that destroys humanity, leaving me and 5 other nice people (preferably, a super awkward guy with whom I share interests but not looks or personality and 4 pretty girls -- make 'em all bi so no one gets left out lol) to have the planet to ourselves -- somewhere in Hawaii.
Ok, that sounds terrible. I wouldn't want humanity to be killed off.
Alternatively, heaven on earth would be where I undergo some risky/unknown medical operation as a medical tourist in some tropical third world country that not only cures my autism/sensory issues but makes me into a sort of super human with great strength/agility/coordination, a 180 IQ, and a super human empathy that can see through people up to 100 yards away, allowing me to return home, start over with a new life, and eventually become Communist dictator of the U.S.A.
My first acts as dictator would be to let most of the poor people out of prison and replace them with bankers. My second step would be to arrest most of the school administrators, bring in the military to seize national control of all the public schools, and bring in European experts to rebuild them to be equal and effective. There'd be lots of fighting and resistance, but I would use my superhuman empathy and social skills to isolate all my enemies and then have them all arrested once I had paid off all their friends.
So I'm not all bad. I can be a benevolent (ish) dictator. lol
Finally, alternatively, I'd like to be Neil Caffrey without a criminal record. Ok, finally, something that doesn't make me look like horrible or semi-horrible person.

Lol I'm getting to know your posts. Reading on a blackberry screen, I knew who posted this before I read your signature or scrolled to the left to see your username.
And while I have some similar thoughts over the years, really, in a much more realistically attainable aspie paradise I can't think of a better place on the planet than where I live now - with the exception of maybe being able to move to a nicer more expensive affluent part of the city closer to certain environmental features etc. We have beaches and mountains and forests, rivers lakes parks, environmentalists, scientists, a tech industry focused on video games and software development, a film industry, countryside valley full of farms, a bible belt for the religious types, a large gay community, people from virtually every culture on the planet speaking many languages and practicing all different faiths - there's a road with more than 10 different large churches and temples of varying faiths on it, a chinatown, ports and trainyards for the logistics machine lovers, yoga studios and wellness centres of various types + chinese medicine etc available all over for those that find them beneficial for focus and calming, wild animals and old growth forests and mountainside hikes accessible via public transit, we're the 3rd largest narco state in the Americas due to our marijuana trade & synthetiic drug production for the badass rule breaker types lol, there's a scene for every possible interest somewhere around town with equally quirky people who enjoy them, whether music or dance or amateur radio or opera or anything really, and for the adrenaline junky active type we have world class -insert name of any sport- here due to the varied terrain from sea to mountain to desert all within a tank of gas drive while city limits are all inside climate zone 7, temperate rainforest, which means its awesome.

Can't believe I turned down going to your law school with a scholarship. Hmmmm. Texas sucks. Can't even enjoy the breakfast tacos if I turn out to be gluten intolerant.

My idea: I can be alone to pursue my special interests and I get paid for it. Also, there is sushi.

Why'd you do that?
UBC is one of the most serene beautiful places around here, too. Nice landscsaping, architecture, gardens, ocean views, hiking/bikling trails in the surrounding forest, and affluent people from all over the planet - but especially China, living nearby as real estate values make condos cost a million dollars here and houses nearby multimillions.
And in the city we apparently have the highest rate of single people living alone to an apartment/condo in the country - the article was about this being a problem with people feeling lonely and isolated especially of they don't speak English yet etc but I think this is pretty good considering its so common here its almost the norm, so its not strange at all to li e solo and enjoy your solitude. I think these numbers may actually be impacted by aspies moving here to work in their chosen geeky high tech specialized field as the number of tech and software companies here expands.

And I speak fluent Mandarin and lived in China, desperately wanting to do something that had to do with China, before law school.
The honest reason is I was a member of a super pretentious U.S. forum called top-law-schools.com where I was advised to go to a good U.S. school with as little debt as possible (UT being none, U Chicago being hefty) in order to have the best angle at plum U.S. salaries (along with 100-hour work weeks an an anti-aspie workplace with way too much stress -- and ---what I absolutely detest--Type A people, but I ignored all that). Also, parental pressure since I'm from Texas--where everyone worships UT-- and my parents had never heard of UBC. I ended up taking a summer job for this coming summer at a government agency which, if I get a permanent offer, will be below the salary made by the average student at UBC working in one of those cool international law firms.
This was one case where it was a super big mistake to allow myself to be influenced by other people.
One the other hand, I wouldn't have had the money/insurance to get diagnosed in Canada as a foreigner (maybe?) so I might not have addressed some of my barriers to good employment like I have been able to do here.
So maybe it's all for the best.

And there are over 40,000 cherry blossom trees of different varieties planted throughout the city that are starting to flower now. That's kind of a big deal - I love them.
And there are glaciers, too, for those who like utilizing the cold weather tolerance some of us have. We have pretty much every type of terrain imagineable within a tank of gas' drive - although some of it requires crossing the us border into washington to access. Heck, there's a Summer resort town/lake in a desert area of BC right along the US border that gets over 40C/~100F temps in the summer - its about a tank of gas out of Vancouver, too.

Don't make me shoot myself for going back to Texas.
I also tend not to have any issues at all in dating relationships with Chinese girls. We just think pretty much the same, so it's all cool. UBC might just have been a much better place. I would likely been top of the class there, as here, and had no trouble getting some kind of job, especially one with a Chinese boss.
*not shooting self*
