Are there any specific NLD message boards or support groups? Or should I just go to an ADHD group?
I am diagnosed on the autism spectrum, but I think it's actually severe NLD causing me to qualify as autistic, rather than whatever causes most people to qualify for the autism spectrum.
I have lots of symptoms of ADHD but do not qualify for it. Anyway, I feel out of place among aspies because I feel dumber (I can't play video games), less intellectual (I don't care much for technology or science), much less geeky, but with better social skills but also more problems in non-social areas of life. In fact, social difficulties are not even my primary difficulty, in my opinion. It's typically other things that are a problem which have merely a secondary social effect. I feel like all the support and help resources out there are designed for someone with a different kind of ASD.
I wish I could either find an NLD support group, or an ADHD one that would accept individuals with NLD.

I can definitely relate to this.
Yes, I have social impairment, but my biggest area of difficulty? Executive functioning. That's why I can't live independently at age 23. That's why I take a reduced course load and still sometimes find it too stressful. That's why I worry that I might never be employed.
Just because autism requires social impairment doesn't mean that's the biggest issue for every autistic. They have to be present, but other things can cause more difficulties.
