For the first time ever, my Aspie score is higher than my non-aspie score:

Your Aspie score: 101 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 99 of 200
You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits

Granted, I am sure it is not a significant difference, but I find it interesting that adding interpretation of the eyes changed the mix.

One thing I noticed is that I think I use more than people's eyes in determining emotion. I found myself trying to figure out what the rest of their face looked like.

I also noticed that one set of eyes belongs to Claudia Schiffer.

Did anyone else's score change with the newer version?

Yes, I used to be in the 120's.

I haven't played with the toss ups with this one like I have with the old ones. I like to try it once answering with kind of how I used to be when I was a teenager and had less learned ability to socialize vs now in my adulthood. I used to get 115-130 or so depending on the toss ups and such. I got 127/75 this initial time through. My non-aspie score was definitely higher than usual compared to the older version (60s).

I felt like I was guessing a lot at the eyes-reading part, so I'd be surprised if I got more than half. After I noticed "staring" was one of the options every time, I tended to stop using it and guess from the remainders as much as possible.

My graph doesn't look like anything now. It used to always look more or less like a bird to me every time. :(

Never mind. I found it.

Your Aspie score: 142 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 56 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

I have taken various versions of this test since 2008, and I have recorded the scores every time. My scores have been generally very consistent and the approximate shape of the lines on the chart has been generally very consistent.

On the version of the test that did not include pictures of faces, this was my most recent score:

Quote:
Your Aspie score: 179 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 27 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

On the test I took today and which includes pictures of faces, these were my scores:
Quote:
Your Aspie score: 182 of 200
Y our neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 25 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

My aspie score is 149 of 200. My neurotypical score is 49 of 200. I'm very likely therefore to be an aspie. P.S. I'm planning in the near future to try to get officially diagnosed. I might show whomever evaluates me a copy of these results.

How are the faces scored?

I took a quick glance through the pdf file and didn't notice anything related to the faces, but I may have missed it.

Before the test with eyes, I scored between 120-144 on the Aspie score and 50ish-60 on the Neurotypical score.
With the eyes, I score:
Your Aspie score: 107 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 79 of 200
You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits

Its interesting that it affected your results in the opposite way. Do you consider yourself good at reading facial experessions? I do, but like I said earlier, this was specific to eyes, not entire expressions, so I guess I am not very good at reading someone's eyes alone...

i don't like the tests with reading "mind in the eyes" stuff!! i used to think that i could "read" people well. those tests now are a sore reminder of how utterly disillusioned i was to think that.

Even more interesting is that I guessed on most of the eyes-- I would sometimes verbally state what I thought the emotion to be...only to find that the four choices were of the exact opposite emotions.

I do not know how "good" I am at interpreting facial expressions in real life; I am prone to assuming that people are more upset than they are, but I read facial expressions well enough to usually get the "gist" of what one is feeling. I always seem to test "well"--about 60-70%--on these sort of tests.

My aspie results went up, too, from 120 to 131.
Neurotypical went down from 84 to 79.

I know what you mean with the opposite emotion. I looked at the picture and thought "okay, that one looks happy" and then the selection was something like "nervous", "annoyed" and "evil".
Okay, maybe not happy...

I did think I was quite good at reading faces, and I am not too bad on these tests because I have the time to look at all the details making up the expression, position of the eyebrows, muscles around the eyes, etc.
When I went to the National Gallery with my boyfriend we used to compare what we read from the painted faces and what I saw was so extremely plain compared to his interpretations. Something like "this person looks bored." and his was "she looks tired and a little worried but also relieved and triumphant, like the victor of an exhausting competition." So much for my ability to read faces - but he's a psychotherapist, I probably should start my challenge at a lower level. :D

I haven't been able to get past the eyes. Too many choices, not enough information. So I haven't taken the new version.
