Where do most people buy a weighted blanket and or a vest for an adult. I do not wish to make one. Is there one site or brand that is better than another? Also, has anyone been able to get their insurance to pay for these items? I have just been diagnosed with Aspergers and I am still learning about it.

I don't know where to buy one, but insurance might pay if you were to get it prescribed by a physical therapist, occupational therapist, or psychologist. It depends on the insurance; it could come under the heading of rehabilitation equipment.

I don't think they are horribly expensive; you might have to save up, but it's not an unreachable cost. It's not like you're buying your own dialysis machine or something like that, right?

I bought mine from ebay. A lovely lady that let me tell her the print and colors I wanted because I am so picky about colors and patterns. With shipping it cost me about $100 and I also got a matching lap pad (which I use over my eyes instead)

Love them both!

Make sure you look up how to get the right blanket weight for your body weight.

Just Google it, there are plenty of legit stores. A place called especialneeds and another named Salt of the Earth are ones I've heard people using before. As Valkyrie2012 posted, ensure you have the proper weight.
