I just realize why -- I think the human voice is super annoying. Instruments and beats though are super calming. When I'm studying, I have a hard time listening to other music, especially male voices. But certain types of techno help me concentrate really well.

Can anyone else identify with this annoyance at hearing the human voice in music?

Perhaps with some voices (those not so good).

A male voice I find impossible to dislike:

I enjoy techno for the energy and classical for calming effects. I don't consider the human voice annoying more than being distracting. The voices tend to get in the way of the music to me, especially when the lyrics aren't decipherable upon the first listening.
