I was on Facebook the other day and saw a post from a friend about her son. It was mentioned that he has Aspergers. I had met him several times and it never really occurred to me that he has AS too. I was surprised at first, but looking back at the times I was around him, it makes sense.

I texted my friend about the situation that the facebook post was about. I mentioned that I'm pretty sure I have AS too, and she said she agreed  We texted a while about the traits that her son and I share. It was a good conversation. She feels overall that AS is a blessing because her son is so caring and supportive of others. I never really felt particularly close to her and never really interacted very much with her son, but now I feel more of a connection with her and her son :)

Just wanted to share.

Nice :D I had a friend back in my primary school, but he went to a different secondary school than I did, and my mum told me recently he had AS which is probably why I got along with him. It's a fascinating thing when you think more deeply about the subject. :o

When i was 10 I made a friend at a school I breifly attended who I now am very sure was autistic, have been told that also. I had no idea I was, perhaps the same with him. We always made the best of friends never overwhelming each other, offending or mis-communating etc. none of the issues like I sometimes had with my NT friends. Aspie friends are the best.
