So how would you respond if somebody asked you these questions?

Well, first of all I wouldn't get anywhere near someone holding a microphone with cameras rolling. Or even near someone with a clipboard taking a survey. Outside of that I tell them I had no idea who they were talking about and i think just about any band that's come out since the 80's sucks.

This!

Other than that, I would've simply told the truth: "Never heard of them."

I would walk past the camera with maximum distance between us and avoid looking in there direction, I might even wait until they are interviewing someone before I attempt to pass much like how I skip donation/salesmen booths in stores. If that failed and they asked me that I would honestly just say "who the heck is that?" If I had an event program I may get it out and check it to see if what they say is true, ask they point their name out to me to prove their point. I usually am very informed ahead of time when I go to a concert as its the content not the social interaction that gets me there.

It would've been so fun if one of the interviewees had done that!

You'd never see the interview on YouTube...or anywhere else.

"Don't you all want to be like NT?"

Looks like a good festival but way too many people for me.

I know... They wouldn't use that clip. I'd still like to see it though. Just the thought of the look on the reporters face!

Funny, but I think they were all in on the joke.

As for me, I would probably pretend not to hear the question and walk away.

Either that or I underestimate the ability of NTs to lie on the spot. The second guy looks to me like he's trying hard not to crack up (right when they cut the camera). It seems like he at least is in on the joke.

Do you guys think that you would have handled it different if there was no camera and microphone involved? Do you think these "normal" people were just agreeable because they were on camera?

No, although I do get less anxious of camera so I may be able to converse more.

I think this test clearly shows one of the flaws in NT commuications, content really does not matter as much is their presentation, even if you have know idea what your talking about. I have people who always say right rapidroy? when i walk into a room, asking me to agree to a statement I was not present to hear, I always respond what is is I am agreeing to? the conversation flow I can tell gets disrupted when I do this however i am not lying/agreeing to things I have no idea on.

In that instance I would usually just pass the buck on to somebody else in the room. For instance, yeah, what he/she said [nodding]

I think most of them of them were...one, the "I intereviewed them in Canada" guy, may actually have come up with that stuff on the spot (I suspect long enough to know it was fake, not enough to get a convincing story). They cut in and away from him so fast that I think something different on that one.
