Last night I stopped into a restaurant to pick up something to eat. Unfortunately I had to wait for the order. So I sat on a step in between two tables and began to read a book. Everything was fine and I could read perfectly until I made the awful mistake of deciding to listen in on a conversation next to me, just out of curiosity to see what people talk about these days. The conversation was really nothing interesting but once I honed in on the woman's voice I simply couldn't filter her out after that. I tried to go back to reading my book but it was impossible. I put my finger in my ear but her voice still penetrated. I tried to concentrate and blend her voice into all the background noise, but her voice still stood out--I couldn't erase it. I really wanted to yell at her to shut up but I knew I couldn't do this. I had to get up and walk away. Luckily my order was ready by then. Ugh. Does this happen to you?

I hear alot of things that were not ment for my ears, I can't help it and its not like I try or anything. Anyway at home they should know better by now then to say sensitive things around someone with sharp sensitive hearing that can't filter sensory input.
