Tonight I am putting glue on my fingers, letting it dry, and peeling it off. Over and over and over again etc. Mostly because I have a splitting migraine that is keeping me from sleeping.

Do you have a favorite stim tonight?

Same stim as always: wiggling my toes/feet back and forth or from side to side repeatedly. Makes me calm.

I have done it for years for entertainment. It is soothing to feel the glue peel off in sheets and is safer for my skin than picking at cuticles, digging nails into skin, or ratcheting my hand against my collar bone. Plus the feeling of the glue peeling off is amazingly cool and fun.

I'm a foot/toe wiggler too. I'm also a hair tugger but not hard.

Yeah, I have other stims as well but wiggling my toes/feet is what I do the most. Really like it.

I'm trying to avoid the wiggling feet/toes since my cat is half-asleep by my knees and will attack my feet if they move. It's making me feel a bit crazy that I can't do it, so I've caught myself flicking/rubbing my nose. Typically it's more of an anxious stim (serious conversations, car rides, doctor appointments, etc.) but maybe not being able to move my feet is really causing that much anxiety. :P

EDIT: As soon as I posted this, my cat got up to drink some water and my toes instantly started wiggling. Haha.

Though not repetitive in the traditional sense, my favorite stim continues to be smoking a cigarette. Handling and generally fiddling around with the thing is enjoyable. I am in the process of changing to an electronic cigarette so that I can continue the stim without the tar and other nasty stuff in cigarettes beyond nicotine.

In meetings I am a leg-bouncer. I sometimes get nasty looks from co-workers when my doing so shakes the conference table, so that is my cue to either stop doing it or push away from the table.

In the past I have been a hair-tugger, though not so hard as to actually pull out hair. I don't have enough of it left to indulge in that. :-)

Oooh I used to love peeling glue off my fingers when I was a kid... mine's more destructive... I pick at any sort of tiny, invisible bump that may appear on my body until it bleeds and scabs over, then I pick at the scabs. It especially happens at night when I can't sleep, but also during the day now since I no longer have a job due to illness...

Maybe I ought to try this as a replacement stim... hmm

That sounds more like a fetish than a stim if you ask me. The glue peeling that is.

LOL I do the leg bounce as well. The other half says that it drives her nuts when I do that. Nice thing about e-cig's is that you can stealth vape depending on your work environment.

I prefer hot candle wax, it also drives people crazy at the dinner table when I do it.

I always have the same set of stims. Rocking, hair-twirling, hand-flapping, etc.

I hand flap while holding something flexible.. I prefer to hold a small string or bracelet or something like a stim bracelet. I am married with kids so I usually do this in private. That is basically the way they new I didn't have Tourette's. I was able to decide when and where I stimmed therefore I guess it wasnt a "tick"

The best way to keep my calm is by playing my bass. I have achieved a new level of comfort by getting the guts to join a band. It has been very successful so far. I find the more I play and rehears, the less I hand flap.
