Awhile back ago I posted a thread on RAD or Autism because my Psychiatrist brought up RAD,along with Autistic traits. He has wanted me do do some neurological tests,I may have to pay myself if I can't find a Doc that takes Medicaid,or drive three hours to one that does.
I totally dismissed his thoughts on RAD,but after some research and seeing this video,he may be right.I was adopted,my bio-mom was not happy at all with being pregnant, these thoughts of anger and unhappiness can effect the fetus.I was adopted by loving family members who later died (they were elderly)and then I wound up a ward of the state,so group homes, several foster families, till I got one that wanted me.
I found this vid interesting because it wants to put RAD in the Autism spectrum, but it's to late to weigh in on thus with the DSM now.
RAD kids also stim, and have the sensory issues, lack of eye contact,etc...
I just thought others might also find this vid interesting.
But I guess I'm going to do some tests,I'd just like more answers.

Autism has nothing to do with attachment. Autistic kids show the same patterns of attachment as non-autistic kids. And RAD only superficially resembles autism, and does not respond to autism treatments. (They need attachment-oriented psychotherapy, which is useless for autism.)

Seriously, this stuff was debunked in the 70s.

Why do folks on wrongplanet do this?

Post an acronymn that they know full well that no reader will know the meaning of, and then fail to drop the other shoe and state what the acronymn stands for?

If you're gonna to the trouble to post a video and to write a post about it- why cant you just put in an exta nanosecond of effort and state what RAD stands for?

Not just you- alot people love to NOT drop the other shoe like that.
Would God strike you dead if you wrote "Reactive attachment Disorder"( I mean just the first one time you mention it- you can abbreviate the rest of the time)? What is your reasoning behind doing that?
