Let´s make stimming pride where adults and children with autism and other disabilities will perform their stims to show that´s nothing wrong with stimming.

Hmmm, my primary stims are jiggling my legs, and twiddling my fingers and toes--not very dramatic! People tend to think I nervous when I jiggle my legs and don't get that I may just be thinking with intensity.

I think NT people will always misinterpret stims if they see them in ordinary contexts. But it's a nice idea--isn't this kind of the Autreat concept? Or are you thinking of parades and demos and that kind of thing?

Funny you mentioned this. THis morning, I'd never head of "stimming." Then I watched a YouTube video about it, and now this. Interesting. I fidget a lot with my hands, and I pretty much have to when talking to someone.

I want more people who are not on the Spectrum to realize that they probably stim, too. Just somehow the ways in which we sometimes stim are consider 'bad' or 'different.'

I can see a great one act play with music, skit, and story! :D

I don't know but I don't agree with parents filming their kids like that. I'm sure the kid wouldn't be too happy about it.

I don't have much of a choice in "performing" them; they're only semi-voluntary.
I do agree that there's nothing wrong with them.
