For all my social anxiety and tendency to withdraw and stuff
..., I don't have a problem with public speaking. I just went to a Toastmasters club meeting this morning and was able to stand up in front of the group and introduce myself with no problems at all. They said I did well, but maybe they were just being nice; nevertheless, I still felt good about it.
When I was in high school, I took 2 years of speech and debate and was on the forensics team. That I think has eliminated any fear of speaking in front of an audience. I find that now, even if I am nervous, I will still get up and just do it and kinda go into a trance as I do it. It seems to work, and helped me to place 4th at a county-wide speech competition when I was on my high school forensics team, so I look forward to improving my speaking skills, as I think they will come in handy.
