Does anyone else enjoy reading statistics about different countries, like the ones in the CIA World Factbook?

I found one with even more data than the CIA one.

Fellow Brits, we can see just how badly we're doing in comparison with everyone else.

Pakistani 1.3% would of thought this to be higher their take over hole streets, on benifit but seem to be able to buy houses, big cars think the gov should crack down on them, sharing their money across each other...

more than 400 Internet Service Providers, wonder if that is service providers or people who pay access to the main ones... Nomraly end up getting a bill through the door demanding money that you over used your internet bandwidth... on most...

lol I frequently feel like this. The US has a pretty amazing headcount of Billionaires, so that probably makes a difference. Let's not forget Aspie Godfather either. We also pay an inordinate amount for virtually everything in the UK, putting further pressure on our number. One quick example; Windows Vista Ultimate Edition is $399 Stateside, but £370 ($approx $720) over here. Surely it can't cost $300 to move a box across the Atlantic....might find this site interesting http://www.rip-off.co.uk/

Admittedly, I had some trouble deciding which forum to put this in, which do you think would be best? I noticed a "stats" forum, but it seems dedicated to WP's stats.

I reckon that 400 count is the total amount, I'd really be shocked if there was as many as 400 main ones to be honest. I pay for unlimited bandwidth on mine, but it comes at a hefty price....£66 a month.

Ah Alex can decide where it belongs.

Yeah no way i would pay $399 for an OS. I paid $90 something for a
windows xp cd and like $75 for a win 95 cd. Looks like I'm migrating back to Linux in 2008!

Linux seems to be quite popular amongst WP's more technically-proficient members. It's a great operating system although you have to compromise a bit when it comes to gaming.
I'm trying to install Kubuntu at the moment. Was playing about with SuSE Linux for a few months last year, but made a mess of my setup and went back to XP....Doh!

Apple seem to charge quite reasonably for their OS ($110 for the current Mac OS X Tiger), however, they make you really pay for the hardware. I'm still switching though....after I commit a few dozen acts of grand grand grand grand larceny to pay for it.

ROFLMAO! I'm going to tell that to the others at school...

Nope, just 2 mb/s unfortunately, I've got a contention ratio of only 20-1 instead of the more typical 50-1 hence why it's so expensive. Also, any money that I'd save by downgrading would have to go straight to my creditors and quite frankly they can go f* themselves.

Ouch. :(

What kind of part was it? Think it may be time to emigrate to the US.
