Somebody needs to increase the character count for titles.

My full question was "As an Aspie, do you think you think more practically than Neruotypicals?"

Not to say that the Neruos are dumber than us or anything insulting, but the thought crossed my mind multiple times that maybe we are able to see things more logically, or at least that has been my opinion for awhile.

I don't know how to say it really. I just know that they think differently than us. I also thought that maybe I was more like a Neruo myself, because my mom said I was High-Functioning.

It's "practical" not "practically," but in any case, I think people with AS are inclined to this because we must do everything on a cognitive level. By nature, we are thinkers, not feelers.

I disagree. Some Aspies feel more things than others (You mean emotions, right???) Perhaps I just don't fully understand what you mean by that)

I think it depends on where you are on the spectrum.

No, less. I have executive dysfunction, which really impairs my ability to think practically.

I don't think its really one way or the other, I know I often tend to find really practical solutions to issues that most neurotypical people around me would not of come up with, on the other hand I often miss simple solutions in favour of getting stuck on small, perhaps unimportant and unsolveable details. It depends on the situation.

I used to think I was I "thinker" but I've done some more studying and it seems I'm much more of a "feeler" than I once realized.

No. At least I (not-diagnosed, but probably aspie) am much more "theoretical/abstract" and less "practical" than "normal" people.

And no, in many (most?) cases, being a logical thinker is not the same thing as being "practical"; in many cases, much the opposite - most situations are to much complicated to be solved only by "logical" reasoning, and because that, the "common sense" (as the collective repository of knowledge accumulated by generations, usually by try-and-error) works better than "logic".

I wouldn't say I'm any more practical than a NT. My obsession with symmetry isn't practical. I'll take extra time to arrange things in a way that looks nice to me. Either that or I'll be tempted to do so. It's less practical and less efficient but it looks nicer.

When I first started playing Magic the Gathering I had a problem with thinking practically. I wanted to win big or utilize funny interactions and I even did this in tournaments. A straight forward strategy is more practical but I wanted everything to be elaborate. I got over that as I became more competitive but the problems I had are an example of how I can be swayed by things that aren't practical such as style, neatness, and extremely small or large numbers.

I'm often tempted to do things in a less efficient way just for the sake of aesthetics.
