For example, if you have a problem with a person or agency, do you have someone who will make a difficult phone call for you, accompany you to wherever you need to go (to get the problem solved), or otherwise give you REAL HELP??

I have various people that will go so far as to tell me, "Ok, you need to call such and such. Or go to X place and this is what you need to tell them..."

But I have not one soul, one person who will come with me for support. Who will make a phone call for me or intervene in some way. I have no advocate. I'm all alone.

:(

Just wanted to add... If there is one thing that would make a difference in my quality of life, it would be an advocate of some sort.

I envy those with Autism or Aspergers who have a supportive significant other, or someone to face life's hardships with.

If you have a problem or dispute with someone, is there a single person you can call who will take the time to help, or do most people drop the ball when it counts?

Do you have anyone to help you with daily life, its trials and tribulations?

:( It's a hard place to be. I can do those things, but tend to avoid them unless it becomes an absolute necessity.

Mother

She's disabled too -- we help one another. She has a physical disability, but I'm fine there. I have mental, and she's fine there.

I don't think I'd be able to have someone else help, such as a social worker.

My parents, I call iParents, iMother and iFather, because they are obsessed with iPads.

Kind of neither / either for me. I have no one who actually gives a molecule about me but, since I live in a commune, I have socialist infrastructure. So, if my heart is broken, tough luck chump, but if my hand is broken, immediate medical assistance. I should add my hands make almost 33% of the commune's marketable hammocks.

I have just posted on a thread about meltdowns and I am really in a situation where sometimes all I need is for someone to arrange to renew a contract or make a difficult phone call to take the pressure off but despite being married it just doesn't happen. It is always me that has to do it and I get in a mess with officialdom as the rules become more and more ridiculous. For example my mobile phone contract had ended and the monthly bill almost doubled without notification. In the end I changed to another provider but not without having a horrible discussion with the original provider. I feel very sorry for the people on the other end of the phone as I get very unpleasant. I know it is not their fault but increasingly they do not seem to know their job and you are passed around until you get someone who can sort it out. This seems to happen for just about every type of agreement these days.
Now, if I am asked to sort something out in a work situation, I am absolutely fine. I can make those phone calls or write letters in an 'official' capacity without getting angry. I have a very different persona for work. Maybe I could find a similar aspie partner and we could deal with each others' support!

OP, I feel for you. I've been incredibly lucky with my few true friends, and my partner is cool with coming along and holding my hand, so emotional support is not currently an issue. I could really use a PA for admin though.....

That sucks. I hate it when people are coldly dismissive. It hurts.

I love that your mom helps you :-)
I try to help my twins (adults), even though I am a probable Aspie too. My husband tells me I'm "coddling" my daughters when I help them. That really hurts me and makes my daughters feel bad too. They really need a little help and I don't mind giving it to them.
