My partner says he can feel the sound and so can his ex and his parents and his grandparents and they are all Nts but my partner. I can't feel it so I'm wondering if you are supposed to feel the surround sound and if it's a hyposensative thing that i can't feel it. I heard it and the rumble but not feel it.

I think the rumble you are talking about IS feeling it!

Anyway, if you can hear the stereo, and get the fidelity, THAT is what counts.

I think the whole point of surround sound is to feel it. It's supposed to be like you're living in a movie theater.

I really dislike surround sound, especially when you're watching a horror movie and the footsteps are behind you. 8O

I love surround sound; you can hear so much detail, you feel like you are back in the theatre, feeling like you were in the movie. Not quite as real as an iMax film, but surround sound adds depth to the movie experience. If you can't "feel" anything, maybe you should try turning it up. :)

Surround Sound freaks me out. And I HATE how theaters turn the volume up ten thousand times louder than needed. The only thing it's even remotely good for is drowning out the disgusting eating sounds.

I don't like surround sound, it is weird watching people on the screen talk in front of you, but then hearing them behind you.

This has become a fairly serious issue with me.

Is your system made up of separate components or is it an all-in-one home theater in a box? If it's an all-in-one system, then no, you will not be able to feel it as much. If your system is made up of separate components, try going with bigger speakers or a more powerful subwoofer.

I really love surround sound. It makes watching a movie so much better.

Surrond Sound is just 4-Channel or higher audio. Most commonly you have 5.1 surrond, but there is also 4.1 and 7.1 surround sound. What most of you are talking about is the use of a subwoofer.

It's not my surround sound, it's my partner's and he can feel it I can't. I can't stand base and don't like it very much but luckily he doesn't have his turned up high. Maybe it's just me. it doesn't give me any effect. Some thigns I just don't feel such as when i bump my head, nothing. Doesn't hurt much while others think I'm hurt and are amazed I'm okay.

I've never liked 5.1, or 4.1 at home, preferring stereo instead. In a theatre it's OK, however it seems to be overkill as far as home audio is oncerned. --Also, I have enough RMS wattage on hand at home that feeling the LF is nothing more than a matter of cranking up the Volume control.

The sound you 'feel' comes from the subwoofer. It could be that your subwoofer is either not big enough for your space or it is not set up correctly- level too low or crossover point is too low.

My brother would crank his so loud and make it sound as if a herd of elephants was comming and going to stomp on the house. I'm surprized he isn't deaf.

Bleh, I remember when surround sound became the "cool thing to have" back in the '80s. I hated it then and I hate it now. People are always saying stuff like "ooo, we should watch the movie at my house, I have surround sound!" God I hate that. No surround sound in my house ever!
