How long ago and/or at what age where you diagnosed with AS?

I was diagnosed a little under 2.5 years ago at 28.

Around 10 or 11 years of age. The psychiatrist of my middle school knew a lot about it and observed me before the diagnoses took place.

Unofficially (self-diagnostics) I came to the conclusion about 6 months ago.

My CBT therapist suspected it around February of '06 and gave me a "pseudo diagnosis," meaning that I was just told that I did indeed fit the DSM's criteria, and I was given an official diagnosis this September.

About 11 years of age, so that would be 6-7 years ago.

At the age of five. Only, I was said to have a mild case of Autistic Tendencies, as it was back in 1980 that I was diagnosed.

I read that Dan Aykroyd was diagnosed in the 60s, but then, I was under the impression that AS diagnoses only began in 1994....

I did have a 10+ year option in the poll, but it seems to have dissappeared. :roll:

About 2.5-3 years ago, when I was 28. During my childhood, Asperger's wasn't known in the US, and I wasn't low-functioning enough for an autism diagnosis. One psychologist even said that if there was such a thing as being "a little bit autistic," that would be me.

I've not been diagnosed so I couldn't vote. Actually though back when I was about 6 I had all these tests done to see what was causing my poor coordination, and poor muscle tone. A few years ago my mom brought up the results of these tests and told me I had hypotonia and the doctors had said I may have been slightly autistic. I don't know if that really counts as a diagnosis. The doctors never looked into it further either, though I kinda wish they had. Perhaps they saw it as being too subtle to be a problem. Also at the time the tests were done, Asperger's Syndrome wasn't even in the DSM yet. I wonder if the tests had happened later I might have been diagnosed.
