I am very fast at any quizzes that have finite answers and generally do very well on those (yes/no and multiple choice) and have almost always finished well before anyone else (generally 1/3-1/2 time needed). However, when it is an essay type response or if the question is convoluted, it takes me much longer and am prone to need most/all the time allotted to finish the quiz unless it's to easy.

Performing some research on my self-diagnosed condition (which I begun the process for a formal diagnosis), I have seen a lot of places that Aspies are slow test takers. Is that and over-generalization? I wonder if my experience related above is unusual/common for Aspies.

most, if not all, 'typical' aspergers behaviours are exaggerated and generalized so yes, this can be an over-generalisation indeed.
i am also quite fast in multiple-choice tests, but if the questions are open-ended, i will take a lot of time to word my answers just perfectly and also dig my memory for any and all information that is even remotely related, this makes me slow in those kinds of tests
