At times I wonder if I look autistic to others. Even when I'm perfectly fine, going about my usual business, I guess others can judge unfairly. OK, I know this video is really amusing (and I think it's OK to laugh :) ). But on a more nefarious note, do you think we give off weird Aspie vibes in this way? The blank Aspie stare phenomenon. I know people sometimes make snap judgments that are unwarranted. Is this why? <Substitute Aspie for b word>

People have often asked me why I am sad, when I am not. It seems that when I am thinking deeply, I have an odd look which people misinterpret as unhappiness.

Me too. I am not, at all, moody. But I have been accused of being moody. Being misjudged hurts.

I've had strangers come up to me and tell me to smile. I guess my resting face looks unhappy (probably not b****; if it did they'd be afraid to approach me). When it's someone I know, I usually tell them that when I'm happy it doesn't always make it out to my face.

If someone asks me what's wrong, and nothing is actually wrong, suddenly something is wrong because now I'm paranoid about my face and vibes. I try to tell people not to ask me that but they do anyway.... Better idea is to try to do something to get my mind focused on something else.

I just say "I'm happy, my brain just forgets to let my face know"...

This happens to me all the time. I just tell people I look angry/sad a lot when really I'm perfectly content.

People always come up and ask me what's wrong when I'm just sitting at my desk working... Kind of annoying.

Yes, always with the "What's wrong?" or the "Smile!" Ugh. I just tell people "this is just my face" *continue blank stare*

At my autistic son's check-up, I had a nurse tell me that he looked sick in his face, and didn't I think he looked sick.
"Nope, that's just his face..."
Pretty sure she won't ask that question again.

Just the other day my friend said "what's wrong are you ok? I said "just thinking about something" because I tend to look angry when I am thinking. And I guess this video explains it. lol.

This video definitely gave me a chuckle.

That's awesome. I think I will use that one the next time someone asks "Are you upset about something?"
